Good Things come to those who wait – (Weekly Update 11/8/2017)
It’s been two weeks since my last update since then I’ve visited the Hospital to thankfully find out that I haven’t fractured my Ankle (but torn some ligaments) and last week I managed to pull my back doing the strenuous task of bending over to look at the electricity meter. This made me unable to move except very slowly and with lots of noise. So obviously my progress hasn’t been as good as I’d like, the night before I went to the hospital I was considering sawing my foot off due to the pain but as I said luckily there were no obvious fractures. What was useful about my visit was I was supplied with an Aircast to splint my ankle. This has made a huge difference to the recovery of my Ankle and made me realise I should have got it checked out earlier.
Four weeks after the initial injury I’ve not even been able to swim as I’d hoped, there is however progress. I still have some swelling on the medial side of my ankle (the inside) but it’s not too severe. So yesterday I attempted a run I have a support I can wear whilst running I only ran 2.5 k but I ran. I had a few twinges and I was slow but I did it. Today I was planning a swim but it seems the run affected my ankle a wee bit more than I thought however I’m not disappointing as I knew getting back and my rehab could be a slow process. I’m hoping to Swim either Sunday or Monday. and try another run in the next week. Challenge wise I am planning to at least swim or do something everyday but until I’ve actually been swimming I wont know how much the will affect my ankle.
So anyway I have a plan that will unfold over the next few weeks that will hopefully get me running consistently and back on track with the #amigurumicharityrun. I’d like to thank everyone for their continued support and I hope to get some great pictures of the Amigurumi characters over the coming weeks. Just to say that this months raffle has been extended until Sunday details are HERE.
