Winter is Coming – Part 2 – ‘Of Elves and Streaking’
In Part 1 of this series of Blogs I did a round up of the year and stated how important it was to look forward. So Here I am looking forward.
Today is the second day of meteorological Winter. So yesterday was the start of my 3 (yes count them) 3 running challenges. So Challenge 1 is the return of the running streak. I have run winter running streaks before I find them a really good base and great at habit-forming and pushing you out of the door no matter the Weather. So this year I am running the whole of meteorological Winter from the 1st of December to the 28th February at least 2kms a day.
So if that one wasn’t enough to keep me running through the Winter I have a couple of December challenges on the go as well. The next one is the #256challenge. The 256 challenge was an idea from Ian Coreless 256 miles in December. On the 1st you do one mile and do the number of miles in relation to that day up to the 16th then the 17th you go back down the Pyramid 15 miles, 14 miles until you’re back down till 1. As I run in Kms (my running brain now has issues imagining miles) I’ll do some conversions and instead of starting with 1 mile I have to start with 2 kms (to keep my streak). Heres a link to Ian Corless and the challenge post
Now to the most Christmassy of the December challenges it’s the #elfandsafetyproject. My wonderful Wife has made an Elf (of course his name is buddy) so this elf will accompany myself and the official traildog on all runs in December and have his picture taken. I’m going to post the daily pictures on Instagram and my Facebook page (links top left of the page). I’m also going to get a post here that i’ll pin to the top of the page with Buddy’s adventures, that should be up in the next couple of days.
So that’s my December planned. Do you have any challenges planned?
As always you can connect with me on various social media. There’s frequent you tube videos and Instagram post if you want to follow me. Also here’s the link to my lovely Wife’s Blog and Instagram if you’re interested in her Crafty work. Instagram is more active at present.
