Don’t Stop Dreamin’ (Without a ‘G’ obviously)
As you know if you drop a ‘G’ it makes you seem young and ‘down with the kids’. Oh well I tried. One of my favourite films is ‘Mr Hollands Opus’. Yes for a Big Science Fiction/Fantasy and Horror fan it’s a strange film to have as one of your top films. You can criticise the film on many levels. Is it over sentimental? Yes of course it is. Is it musically inaccurate? Yes in the same way Star Wars is scientifically inaccurate. It doesn’t matter though it’s not meant to be a musical documentary it’s a film about dreams and how you may not realise the importance of something you do to others,
We all age and we all have dreams. I seem to have lost 30 years somewhere because last time I looked I was 18 but no matter what age we have dreams those dreams develop and ferment over time. They may change but you still have them. As a runner I have dreams of places and even events i’s like to run. I may or may not achieve those but I wont suppress those dreams. My personal situation having to Care and support my Ill and Disabled wife make a lot of these dreams far away and logistically difficult.
I am hoping in two years time to do a ‘Big’ Run event or challenge for my 50th (bloody hell did I say 50?). What this is may change but I will continue to dream and plan. When I go for my daily run I will dream and plan. Some of these things may come to fruition or just add to other things I am doing. These dreams help propel me through daily runs and daily commitments. You may not see the importance of your daily ‘Grind’ sometimes though the dream is nearer than you think. So Don’t Stop Dreamin’
