A Little Time – Training Update
So my first week back to training. As expected I’d lost some fitness but most of it seemed to be my overall speed not my endurance. As it was a lead in week to build myself back up to full speed for my Ultra training I was a bit tentative. I finished the week on 36 miles which is a good start to up my mileage next week. My foot hasn’t caused any issues despite some Paranoia on my part.
I’ve kept 90% of my runs on the trail and I think I will try to continue like that as it makes sense to train on the sort of terrain I’m going to race on. I also have not taken my trusty trailhound with me because I wanted to ensure any foot issues were totally sorted before we ran together. She was not happy with this situation. I’m planning on taking her tomorrow though so hopefully she’ll be happier then,
The weather has been kind to me this week so that with getting running again has made it a really nice week. Oh and I love my new shoes (a review at the back of next week) which I have worn for around 15 miles so far. Next week an increase in mileage and we’ll see how we go. I finished this week today with a brutal set of hill repeats which my legs really know they’ve done. An easy day tomorrow with a split run and a gentle swim.
Overall a good week and it’s so nice to be ale to eat more!
