Make your Soul Grow
I find many things inspire me, without some form of inspiration where would we be? Literature and writing is an art form that I wish I could write such powerful and moving things as some of those great writers. The video below I have shared with people before but to me it is one that I can’t watch enough. Kurt Vonnegut was/is one of the greats a writer whose prose straddles genres and well just captures the soul. I’ll quote the background to this video but no matter what you do I feel everyone can take something from this great writers beautiful words.
Back in 2006, a group of students at New York’s Xavier High School were set an assignment – to write to their favourite authors and ask them to visit the school. Kurt Vonnegut – who died seven years ago today – was the only one to reply. Dogtooth Films have made a film with students at Hove Park School, in the UK, celebrating his letter, which urges young people to make art for its own sake and to ‘make your soul grow’
