Run Forrest Run !!
Streak Day – 19
Todays Run – 7 Miles
Week Mileage. – 35.03 miles
Forrest Gump was my Mums favourite film. I’ve never been a fan of it but it keeps coming into my head so I may have to look it out and watch it again. Maybe I’ve been too harsh on it
This weeks runs have been as normal up and down. I did two recovery days of around 2 miles as my legs were getting sore. As much as I had to force myself not to run any further or harder it was worth it as Yesterday and today I did back to back 7 milers and felt pretty strong. That along with knocking 4 minutes off a 3 mile trail route I do make it a pretty positive week.
Not done large amounts of running with the dogs this week. This coming week I want to fit a few more in because they love it and their randomness stops me being complacent
We have storms hitting us again today. I’d originally planned to run 9 today but the winds were building up so quickly it was getting dangerous so I cut it short. A pity but I still had a good run. I like to look at it as the advantage of always running outside the fact that the same route can challenge you on different days just because of the change in weather.
I’ve been getting really cold this week about an hour post run and it lasts for a couple of hours. I’ve never had this before. I know when you run your metabolism increases so you generate more heat because of inefficiencies within the body it takes around 45 minutes for sweat etc to be able to evenly regulate your body temperature. When you stop running it takes a while for your bodies cooling rate to slow down that is why you can feel cold. This effect normally happens quite quickly post exercise. So I can’t totally explain why I’m feeling so cold such a long time afterwards. It’s probably all related and maybe to do with the change in outside temperatures that I’m running in at the moment?
Anyway easy recovery run day tomorrow just 2 or 3 gentle miles.
