It’s interesting for most people they like routines getting into one can be good for you mentally. Physically though too much of a routine can be detrimental to improving your fitness. I quite like routines though, they make me feel organised. When I started at the end of January my routine mainly involved longer dog walks. Walking was initially my main form of exercise. Then as I slowly introduced more exercise the routines got more complicated. My routine up until the back of last week involved my two hour swims in the morning. As I said in an earlier post I was getting too comfortable so needed to change it around a little.
The thing is establishing a new routine. This morning I started back on doing half hours worth of yoga as I used to. As much as my body could tell I’ve not done it for a wee while it was like ‘hello old friend’ it felt good. It was great to be back doing something a little different that I enjoyed. So the next bits of my new routine are some chores and Dog walking and a new shorter more intensive afternoon swim. Hopefully my new routine will help me in all aspects of my life not just on fitness and weight loss.
